Grr! Last night i went to Oxford's weekly rock clu, Sabotage, and early in the evening they played some dragonforce. Naturally i was up there dancing with the best (ie the most drunken...), but i think i overdid it slightly...

my neck hurt for the rest of the evening (not that that stopped me dancing to such wonders as "the final countdown" and "number of the beast" and "du hast", but how could it?) and is still painful now...

Ah well, painkillers are helping, so no real damage done i think...

anyway, am currently working on making chainmail rather than actually drawing, i'll upload progress pics at some point

I talked to Professor Sir Barry Cunliffe earlier about my dissertation, which i'm going to do on the forms of alcohol consumption in pre-roman and roman britain. He was AMAZING! He gave me so much stuff in 10 minutes, all relevant and useful, all unprepared, because it was an impromptu conversation. Best of all, he suggested that i get either Professor Chris Gosden or Dr. Martin Henig to supervise me, or if they won't that he'd do it HIMSELF!!!!!!!!

Overall it seems my life is gonna be kinda emo with a christian slant to it, with a bit of random death/power metal thrown in... o.O

Since i completely failed to draw anything (that fits in my scanner) for you while I was away, here are some photos I took instead.
The one of me is from the excavation at Silchester Roman town run by Reading University, where I dug for two weeks this summer.
The other two are from excavations at Henllys Farm, run by York University, where I was Assistant Site Supervisor for four weeks this summer. If you want to know more about Henllys farm, or see more pictures, just ask and I shall do my best to provide.
The final two photos were taken on the campsite near the Henllys Farm site, which also served excavations at Castell Henllys Iron Age Fort and Ffynnonwen Enclosure site. They demonstrate that archaeological digs are not exactly as serious as you might think...

am now back for a week after spending 6 weeks living in various fields without web access...
